If sorrows were not born
The value of joy would cease,
For every ravaged nation torn,
Burns harder the will for peace.
Do sparkle diamond flecks
In blackest nights so deep
As the sun does humbly bow
So creatures great and small may sleep.
While dawn and dusk do pay
To their tunes of hide and seek
Eroding landscapes groan
As once mighty shapes turn weak.
And one soul will breathe his last
So another screams for air
While placed in his mother's arms
Who'll vow eternal care.
For Land, Sea and Air
Are being borrowed - Nothing's new,
To share essentials all
Is what we came to do.
And while death's angel stalks
Every minute, every day,
Our deeds are written firm,
In all we do; in all we say.
